Section SSI. Before an election to fill the offices herein provid-ed for, tne Town Clerk shall publish at least once in the local newspaper, published within the Town of Bingham Canyon, Utah, a list of all nominations for said offices, said publication to be made not mors than twelve days before the day of election and not less than three days before the day of election.1 Section 352. Be it ordained by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Bingham Canyon, Utah. Section 1. There Is hereby en-acted a new chapter in the or-dinances of the Town of Bing-ham Canyon, Utah, to be known as Chapter XVII, providing for the nomination of candidates for the offices of Board of Trustees, consisting of a President and Four Trustees, and the methods by which the said candidates for said offices shall be nominated. CHAPTER XVII. NOMINA-TION OF CANDIDATES FOR THE OFFICES OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES. Section 350. The board of Trustees of the Town of Bingham Canyon, Utah, consisting of a President and four Trustees, shall be nominated in the following manner: A certificate of nomination containing the name or names of candidate or candidates, for the office or offices to be filled, shall be signed by at least fifty voters residing within the Town of Bingham Canyon. Utah. Said certificate of nomination shall be in writing and shall contain the name or names of the office or offices, for which each candidate or candidates, is or are, nominat-ed, the name or names, and the address or addresses of the can-didate or candidates. The signers shall designate in not more than five words, the political or other name which the signers shall select, and under which name, the candidate or candidates shall run for the office or offices set forth in said certificate of nom-ination. The signatures to a cer-tificate of nomination need not be appended to one paper. No per-son shall sign more than one certificate of nomination for any office. The certificat of nomina-tion may designate upon the face thereof, one or more persons who shall represent the signers to fill all vacancies. Each voter signing the certificate shall add to his signature, his place of re-sidence; and shall acknowledge his signature before an officer duly authorized to take acknowl-edgements and take oath that he is a voter within and for the Town of Bingham Canyon, Utah, Ifl ORDINANCE I ORDINANCE AUTHORIZ- - conformlty with the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed valid, unless objections thereto shall be made in writing, within three days after filing of the same. In case such objections are made, a notice thereof shall forthwith be mailed to all the candidates who may be affected thereby and addressed to them at their respective places of re-sidence as given In the certifi-cate of nomination. The Town Clerk shall pass upon the validi-ty of such objections within at least forty-eig- ht hours after the same ar6 filed, and any objec-and has truly stated his resi- tion sustained may be remedied dence. Such certificate of nomin-ation shall also contain a state-ment that the name or names of the person or persons nomin-ated shall not be printed upon the official ballot otherwise than under the name adopted in such certificate. All certificates of no-mination executed as provided herein shall be filed with the Town Clerk not less than fif-teen days before election. All such certificates . shall be open to public inspection under pro-per regulations to be made by the Town Clerk with whom the same are filed. Any person nom-inated may in writing duly sign-ed and acknowledged by blm, notify the Town Clerk with whom the certificate of nomination was filed that he declines the nomin- - or the deifect may be cured by an amendment of the original certificate, or by filing a new certificate within throe days after such objection Is sustained. Section 2.' It being necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace and safety of the Town of Bingham Canyon, Utah, that this ordinance take effect im-mediately this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its publication on October 1, 1937. Evidence reported indicated that the fire was started with children playing with matches. The shack was destroyed, quick response of the firemen prevent-ing any spread of the flames.
