Show KfcNNECOIT WINS IN TAX DECISION AGAINST COUNTY Salt Lake County Must Pay Kennecott Copper Corp. $144,880.48 Salt Lake county Thursday was ordered by federal court to return to the Kennecott Copper corporation, parent of the Utah Copper company, $133,614.76 In taxes paid under protest in 1936. With interest the judgment totals $144,880.48. The case was similar to one in which the . Utah Copper company com-pany protested the assessment made on its net proceeds for 1934. The Utah firm was awarded award-ed $85, 828. 21- in a judgment upheld up-held last November by the Tenth circuit court . of appeals. In the trial of the Kennecott case Thursday, counsel for both sides waived trial by Jury, findings find-ings of fact and conclusions of law on grounds the case paralleled parallel-ed that of last November.
