PROJECTS BEING CONSIDERED k Dry Fork Water Line: A town's major resource is a clean, healthful, adequate supply of water. There is no other oth-er thing of more importance to the health, safety and future welfare of a town. The Dry Fork water line built in 1923 is a wooden line, now rotting, full of leaks, infested with a fungus growth. A great deal of the water is lost and the cost of repairs is high. ... The proposed line would be 16,400 feet long and would extend from Dry Fork to the Bingham highway and into town. A new 50,000 gallon water tank in Freeman would be erected. Right of way for the new line would belong to the town. The bond election on this project is for $19,000. WPA funds amounting to $10,734 have been obtained. This project pro-ject would give Bingham a new pipe line for the cost of the materials used, The WPA allotment would be an outright out-right saving to the town and would supply work to county unemployed. The improvement would give Bingham a much greater water pressure and increase the water supply 20 per cent. Cemetery Improvement : a $5000 bond issue is proposed to plot, fence, sod and landscape the cemetery . on. the highway high-way and make a few improvements in the'.cemetery in Dry Fork. WPA aid will be asked if the bond issue meets approval ap-proval of the voters. A well would be dug, water piped to every section of the cemetery. Graves in the cemetery will be recorded. Burial permits and fees , will be required ., for all future burials. In time the cemetery should become self-supporting. Recreation Playground: Bingham is the only community communi-ty its size in the state without a recreational center for a children's playground, band concerts, public celebrations, softball play.' To remedy this conspicuous lack a $2000 bond issue is being placed before, the voters. A suitable site is promised if voters approve this project. In the interests of children's safety and community unity, this project deserves de-serves consideration. FINANCE: The town's financial condition is sound. If this $26000 bond issue is approved Bingham will be well J within the bonded indebtedness limit set by law. The town board contends -that these improvements can be had without any increase in the present tax levy. Basis for this statement is their plan for setting ahead payments on the bond issue until all present indebtedness is paid. With the exception of the tax anticipation bonds, final payment of the present town bonded indebtedness will be made in 1944. At present approximately $7000 per year is paid on indebtedness. The three improvements proposed would be paid for at that rate. VOTE TOMORROW TO BETTER BINGHAM. THIS IS YOUR TOWN. MAKE IT A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE. I |
