Show The Logan Temple-The Temple-The corner stones of the Logan temple ground for which was broken , Borne months ago were laid on Monday, the ceremonies being of an interesting character. The following of the church authorities and leading elders were present on the occasion : Apostles John Taylor, Wilford Wood-rufl, Wood-rufl, C. C. Rich, George Q. Cannon, Lorenzo Snow, Franklin D. Richards, Brigham Young, Albert Carriogton; President D. H. Wells; Presidents of Seventies, A. P. Rockwood, H. 3. Eldredne, John Van Cott; Presiding Bishop Edward Hunter, and hia counselors, L. W. Hardy and R. T. Burton; Clerk George Goddard; Presidency Pres-idency of tbe Salt Lake Stake, A. M. Cannon, J. E. Taylor; Reporter G. F. Gibbs; President of the High Priests Eliaa Smith; Counselors Elias Morris, E. Snelgrove; President of the Elders' Quorum, E. W.Davis; Assistant Church Architect, T. O. Angel, jr.; Elderi L. J, Herrick, L. Farr, A. F. Farr, R. J. Taylor of Ogden; Bishop G. W. Ward, Willard city; Bishop A. Nichols and Elder O. Snow, Brigham city; besides Presidents Moaea Thatcher and W. B. Preston and the leading church officials offi-cials of Cache county. There were also present thousands of citizens of that valley. The company marched in procession, led by a band of music, first to the southeast corner Btone, which waa laid by the apostles; thence to the southwest corner, the itono being laid by the presiding bishop, his counselors, the president of the lesjer priesthood, and bishops of s take 3; thence to the north west corner stone, the officiating elders here being the president of the, high priests' quorum, the presidents of Logan and other stakes; thence to the northeast corner this atone being laid by the presidents of seventies and elders. The ceremonies cere-monies consisted of singing a hymn, tbe delivery of a brief address and the offering of a dedicatory prayer at each corner stone. The speakers were John Taylor, Edward Hunter, George L. Farrell, A. P. Rockwood, D. H. Wells, W. Woodrufl, Charles 0. Rich, Lorenzo Snow, George Q, Cannon, Brigham Young, Albert Carriogton. Those who offered the dedicatory prayers were F. D. Richards, Rich-ards, L. W. Hardy. Moses Thatcher and H. S. Eldrede. The proposed temple, U is said, will be a magnificent ctrncture. |
