This morning a body of armed men left Roevilfe, Placer county, ' and proceeded pro-ceeded uptbe Auburn road warning all Cuiuarnen, numbering BOtne sixty in tine camps visited, to leave before midnight, under penalty of death. Some left at once. Twelve at Bur-deck's Bur-deck's camp refused to leave, though threatened. The proceedings were conducted quietly and no violence was oflered. It is believed by Wednesday Wednes-day not a Chinaman will remain in township number one. The r,elu-j gees are mostly gathering at Folaoni. The following dispatch was telegraphed tele-graphed to-day, after consultation With a number of leading citizens: 2o His Excellency, Governor Irwin, Sacramento: ' I exceedingly regret the necessity of calling your attention to the lawlessness law-lessness and mob violence now and for several daya past taking place in the immediate vicinity of the state capital in the adjoining county of Placer. I deaire to remind your excellency that in a letter addressed ad-dressed to . the committee of safety you took occasion to . intimate inti-mate to that body that ; the prompt action taken by them pre vented lawless acts from becoming widespread. I simply call your attention at-tention now to the lawlessness taking place in Placer county, that you may by your promptness as chief executive execu-tive of this state prevent these outrages out-rages from becomiug widespread. I have no dssire to point out your plain duty. You have abundant precedent by recent occurrences whereby the state and national autherity Iias put down mob violence. Justice and humanity demand at your hands that .protection accorded under our government govern-ment to high and low.
