Show Burned In Oil. New York, 28. Thia afternoon, ; while a lighter loaded with oil was being unloaded at the foot of Forty-first Forty-first street, North river, a terrible explosion occurred from some unknown un-known cause, and in an instant the whole body of oil was in flames. When the flames were extinguished it was discovered that three men had been burned to death and another received probably fatal injuries. The '. names of the dead are: Wm. Smith, captain of the vessel, Charles Luke, mate, and a man belonging to the lighter, Dame unknown. Rudolph Brenner is burned so badly Ihat it is not likely he will survive. The loesifl ' small. |
