Show West Jordan Woolen Mills. Lat April Bishop Gardner and other business men and sheep raisers of West Jordan organized a cooperative cooper-ative association, and commenced the erection of a woolen mill near the Gardner flouring mill. The mill was pushed to completion with a commendable com-mendable degree of energy, and has been in successful operation for two months. It is supplied with four power looms, which are kept running to their full capacity. There are twelve employes in the establishment, and about 140 yards of cloth are turned out daily. Several sheep raisers are stockholders in the concern, con-cern, and the miil heing located in a wool growing district, it has been supplied with an abundance abund-ance of wool, and the prospect of the supply being kept up is most encouraging. We have been shown some of the goods turned out, which are truly excellent, and compare com-pare favorably with the products of other factories. The association is prepared to weave all kinds of woolen goods, and are now placing their wares before the public. Mr. B. W. Driggs is the superintendent of the j Weat Jordan woolen mills, and Mr. James May, a well known manufacturer manufac-turer of this city, has charge of the looms. |
