Show Connecticut Democracy. Hartford, G. The democratic stato convention organized to day with Chas. Duraut as president, and after recess nominated the following ticket: For governor, Richard D. Hubbard; lieutenant governor, Francis B Loomis, both by acclamation; secretary secre-tary of state, Dwight L. Morris; treasurer, treas-urer, Edwin A. Buck; comptroller, Chas. C. Hubbard; electors at large. Governor Chas. R. Ingersoll and General Gen-eral Wm. B. Frankiin. The resolutions resolu-tions adopted cordially approve the platform and nominations of the national na-tional convention at St. Louis, arraign the republican party for corruption and demand a change of administration administra-tion to Becure radical reform in the civil service; charge the republican party with opposing the economy policy of; the democrats, and causing a depression of business by othcial corruption and extravagance, and demand rigid economy in public expenditures; ex-penditures; thank the democratic house for retrenchment despite the opposition of republican; call tor the removal of all dishonest officials; de-maud de-maud that the array of federal bayo-nelts bayo-nelts around the polls when peaceable citizens are voting shall cease; denounce de-nounce the receut order ol the attorney at-torney general as an outrage; auk for a wiser policy in thu system of taxation; taxa-tion; demand a return to ppecie payment pay-ment by the most speedy and practicable practic-able method, aud the discountenance of the imposition of revengeful acU upon any section of our common country. |
