Show The editor of the Sacramento Daily Trader, Mrs. Gordon; offers that establishment for Bale, for reasons which striko us as reflecting little credit on tho democracy of the capital city of California, though perhaps we tio not fully understand them. The ' Imcr has advocated a change in the management of the insane asylum, and has also urg..d the appointment of democrats instead of republicans to subordinate positions in the state government. The democrats havo also ignored the Leader as a democratic democrat-ic paper, in the publication of official advertising. Finally, Mrs. Gordon says that tho leaders of the party want a man to take charge of their payer, having a prejudice against a woman conducting a newspaper. Mrs. Gordon has made a good paper; and wo are sorry to see her driven from the field in this way. Heaven knows the democracy needs badly enough the feminine influence in its political councils. |
