The iujunciien recently issued against the school board at the instance of Paul Tre-vigne, Tre-vigne, forbidding the board from establishing separate schools for white and colored cnildreu, was to-day dissolved dis-solved by Judge Rigbler of the Sixth district court. A syndica e of eminent financiers in Europe have proposed to loan the state of Louisiana $12,9oO,000, with which the state must call in aud pay otl her present debt at par, with interest inter-est to date of retirement. Tne state must then isue the same amount ol bonds to the syndicate, bearing 5 per cent, interest, principal aud interest made payable in lorty years. Under this arrangement the state would be required to pay only about 530,000 per annum on account of principal aud interest, instead of $SCO,000 which is now required to py interact on the state bonds. It is believed, however, that mis proposition cannot under tne constitution an ! present state laws be accepted. |
