Show LndleV Fair. The I. adieu' Territorial Centennial fair will be opened to the puhlin at noon to-ilny, in the Old Constitution building. The ladicM havo gotten up " a veiy creditable display, which will ho found intereNtiug. As the nun:o implies it is mainly an exhibition of ladies' handiwork, mid in that lino will far exceed anything any-thing ever before seen in this region. It has been solely the .vorkoftho ladies under tho general supervision of Mks Eli.. K. Snow and they have arranged a show which is both appropriate and attractive. It would bo inconvenient at this time to givo anything liko a description ot the fair, and, indeed, it is one of those things which "must be seen ti bo appreciated." With some exceptions in the fine art line, tho articles arc displayed in tho main room o( tho building. In the room adjoining, at 1 the rear, nro the paintings, photo-1 photo-1 graphd, etc. Perhaps the most at-, at-, tractive departments of the show will bo those lor the silks and laces, nl tho former are articles pretty and durable, and " showing a remarkable degree of skill and practice in their manufacture, made from native silk by Utah ladies. The silk is also shown in various phrases, from Him cocoon to i the manufactured article. The lace , ts indeed beautiful. Tho several kinds on exhibition will compare favorably in beanty of design and ex-' ex-' celteneo of finish, with some of the European filmy fabrics. Thero ia an endless variety of fancy needlework, embroidery, braiding, artificial flow-ere, flow-ere, wax frui ts a ud flowers, car-pets, car-pets, tidies, mats, hairwork, fancy patch work, quilts an.l everything every-thing which lair hands can make for ornamentation and usefulness. Not the least attraction in the fair u a cabinet cab-inet of Utah mineral curiosties. It canuot'but be gratifying that the ladies have taken this method of celebrating cel-ebrating and marking the great month in the Centennial year. And the Herald in earnest in its hopes : that the public, by their patronage, ' will show that they appreciate the eflorts and accomplishments of the t fair creatures.
