Show Theatre. The new drama of "Builton Sand" was repeated last eight to a small, but appreciative audience, and wan exceedingly well played throughout. Willie Gill, as Joe Sqwoggs, a bibulant Bohemian, gave fresh evidence of his ability as a comedian and character actor. The ladios and gentlemen of the company afforded excellent support, sup-port, and the piece may be considered a fair bucccbs. The amusing farce of "Box and Cox" concluded the performance, per-formance, in which Mr. Gill and Mr. 3raham created considerable mirth ind sent tho audience home in an excellent ex-cellent humor. This evening Misu Rose Bain makes her first appearance here in the new play entitled "Madge of Elvanlee,"in which she personates Lady Margaret Oliphant, a character in which Bhe has recaived some very complimentary compli-mentary notices from the press. Mr. Willie Gill personates Dr. Fairlie, a part well adapted to his peculiar style and one in which ho will afford much amusement. Miss Cogswell appears as Agnes Murray; Mr. Lindsay, Sir Malcolm Oliphant; Mr. Forsfer, Earl Strath roy; Mr. Mardon, Col. Strang; Mr. Wilton , Sergeant Ryan ; Mr. Taylor, Gen. Kerr, and Mr Paul, J Captain Spruce. Tho play is in five acts, and from the favorable and complimentary com-plimentary notices which it has received re-ceived from the press wherever it has been persented, the patrons of the theatre may look for a most interesting interest-ing and ploasing entertainment this evening. |
