Show "GOD BLESS OUR HOME." The last New England horror has oocurred in the small town of Pier-mont, Pier-mont, N. H. This state has become infamous for its recent shocking murders. A few mornings ago, while Mrs. Anaa BmerBon, a newly married lady, was sitting in her house by the stove, engaged in sewing, sew-ing, a fiend in human form rushed into the room, and placing a double-barrelled double-barrelled gun to her head, blew it entirely en-tirely from her body. Flesh and blood wero scattered in every direction, direc-tion, portions of the skull being blown through the window out into tho yard. The husband was in the barn at the time, and no one else was near the house but an old man named Sawyer, whe had been cutting cut-ting wood a few steps from the door. Sawyer had. been acquainted with both Air. and Mrs. Emerson, and it is supposed that, having been rejected by the victim, ho took .this mothod to work out hia revenge. A view of the scne where the shooting took place presented a heart - rending appearance. appear-ance. The wife, headless, was still sitting upright in her chair, with her sewing work in one hand and needle and thread in the other. On the wall a picture, entitled "God Bless Our Home," was covered with the brains of tho woman whose hands had hung it there. |
