Show The Boat Race. Lachine, 8. 4.48 p.m. Both men are ready and waiting to be called out. The water is like glass, and not a breath ot wind. 4.oS Courtney aud Hanlon have just started. Both took water. Hanlon oood shoved ahead and at two thirds of the first mile was two length ahead. At the mile both men were even. At the mile and a balf Hanlon waB a length ahead. Near the two mile buoy Hanlon was two lengths ahead agiio. Ik now began to rain heavily. Passing the two mile buoy Courtney had reduced the distance to one boat length. At the two and a quarter mile post Courtney was up even with Hanlon. Hanlon firBt turned the buoy. At the third mile Courtney brushed Hanlon, they were about even; three and a half miles Hanlon btill leading; four mile buoy Hauloo still leading by about a length, four and a half miles, Hanlon leading three lengths,- Hanlon won tbe race. Hanlon won by about two lengths. Time, about 3oi minutes; unofficial. |
