Last Saturday ihe Mcllenry company com-pany shut down, stopping all work and discharging nearly all tneir men. This sudden and unexpected action of the company has riiled everyone with surprise and has a somewhat depressing influence upon the camp. The officers are verv reticient aal it is difficult for an outsider to gain any reliable information, but it ii rumored that there is some hitch in regard to the final payment on the mill, and that as soon as this is settled work will again be resumed in force, and the mill started up. This is ardeutlv to bo hoped for. The mine is looking well and it is estimated that there is: from fifteen t twenty hundred tons of ore on the dumps awaiting shipment, ship-ment, tho new wagon road being completed from the mill to th,e mine. Tne Fiagstafi company are working us fast as possible, but owing to a mistake in the shipment of their machinery ma-chinery they have been unavoidably delayed. Meanwhile work at the mine goes steadily forward wi'.h the most flattering results. Mr. Frank Foote has received the appointment as assayer for this company. The recent rich developments in tne untano are well known in the city, and need no mention bore; this mine is destined to make a history tor itself among the big mining successes suc-cesses of this coast. Tiie mountains are filled with prospectors and several new and reputed re-puted rich Blrikrs have been made. Park City is coming out as a lively little mountain town. New stores are beiug erected every day, new stores being opened, also banking (faro) houses, shooting scrapes, fights nightly, Demies tnd all the little etceteras that go to make up a prosperous miuiug camp. The Buniptuous saloon kept by Messrs. Leveridgo &. Whey land would put to shame many an aspiring city establishment. es-tablishment. These accomplished j mixologists are doing a rushing business busi-ness and meeting with that suocesss which enterprise always deserves. Fish and game are abundant, Parties daily return with sacks full of trout, but alas, too often does one fail to find the mark of a hook about any of the finny beauties ; giant powder is the destroying angel in this case.
