During the last two weeks we have given a full telegraphic report of tho interesting proceedings of tho Episcopal General Convention, now in session in Now York, and all the members of that denomination in this vicinity have had to depend upon the Herald to obtain the earliest information regarding re-garding tho important legislative proceedings pro-ceedings of their church. The convention con-vention has deliberated upon some of tho moat important questions which have divided the councils of this great branch of the Christian world, the results re-sults of which aro likely to be of great interest upon its future history. The anti-ritualistic forces have come squarely up to the work of limiting the extreme hich church faction in its alleged rapid approach towards Romanism. Of late years this wing has apparently prevailed in the conventional con-ventional proceedings of the church; hut it may bo that the defection of Bishop Cheney, following upon that of the Tyngs, will have the effect of counteracting for a time these tendencies. tenden-cies.
