In the Episcopal convention to-day the following resolutions reso-lutions were offered and placed on the calendar: Resolved, House of Bishops concurring, con-curring, that the practice commonly described under the name of euch-aristic euch-aristic adoration, and the practices designattd as sacrament penance, together to-gether with ail teachings leading to the above practices are hereby declared de-clared to be foreign to this church. Resolved, that the committee on prayer books bo requested lo prepare pre-pare and report to this convention such rubrics as may be judged by said commitloo needful to preserve the ritual of this church in its integrity integ-rity and purity. Resolved, that the committee on c inons be instructed to ascertain whether any legislation may be ne-, cessary to prohibit in public worship in tho communion and baptismal , offices, in the order of confirmation, . in tho solemnization of matrimony, and in the order for the burial of the dead, the use by any minister or lay reader of this church of any prayer, litauy, euflr-ige, thanksgiving, exhortation exhor-tation for form and absolution other than contained in the book of com mon prayer. |
