Show First District Court Justice Emerson, yesterday mom-morning, mom-morning, sentenced Harrison Carter, j convicted of murder in the second degree, to ten years' imprisonment in the Territorial penitentiary. Th c sentence- appeared to meet the approval ap-proval of those acquainted with the circumstances of the killing of Chiot of Police Bowcn. Carter was brought to this city and p!aecd in his now quurtcM yesterday. L. Woodward, indicted lor minder by the Fir8t District prand jury, was a!3 brought up from Provo last evening, and confined in the penitentiary peni-tentiary for safe(?) keeping. The trial of Greenwood, on an indictment in-dictment for assault with intent to kill James Hobbins, was going on in Jjaigc Boreman's court on Saturday. It was expected- the cae would be ln'iven to the jury last night. |
