Show THE Hudson will soon lie a much- bridged river. Its navigable portion ja now spanned at Lansingburgh, ' Troy, and once at Albany. The bridge : at Poughkefcpsie will be pushed fur-ward fur-ward rapidly, Lhe one proposed near Newburgh is likely to be begun next ; eeason, and a new one at Troy is under un-der way. The latter has been the vie-' ; tim of an odd blunder. When the f project was broaclted, an cngineei was employed to draw p-u tial plans. Thev j were crude, and were dimply intended , to show the general sttyie ami cost of the structure. When the actual work , was begun these imperfect plans were 1 used, and one of the piers was located j Jn the wrong place. The mistake has , been rectified, however, and perfect t plane drawn. t |
