Show John C. James. The Carson AppcaJ'of the 27th hist., contains an interesting account of the life of Hon. John C. James, an old time Nevadan, who died on the 2oth. His was a pioneer's life. He emigrated emi-grated from hiB birth-place, Ohio, in 1S49, to California, Berved one term in that State Legislature; in '58 he k! cated in Carson county, Utah, where, 1 in '50, he was elected as representative representa-tive to the Territorial Legislature. From that time he filled various minor mi-nor offices of trust in Nevada. The Appeal says: He lived adsolutely witiiout"cnre; and he acquired a storo of curiou; and precious knowledge, nobtxly knew how. To thickheaded parliamentarians parliamenta-rians and forgetful statesmen and can less politicians and superficial cd itors he was an invaluable referee as good as a walking cyclopedia. The funeral took place in the afternoon after-noon of the 27th, Rev. G. B. Allen, officiating. JThe following named gentlemen acted as pn11-bearers:IIon. E. W. Hi I Iyer, U. S. District Judge, Hon.
