Upon last Tnun-day, in accDrdance with iho instructions from the po.-t otBee department at Washington, a large nrmbcr of letters directed to I M. Pattie, general manager of tke Omaha lottery, were seized and sent to the dead letter office whenca they will po returned to tho writers; Tho authorities are determined to prevent further use of the mails by this concern, con-cern, the drawing for which is advertized adver-tized to tako place upon next Tuesday. Meahtimo the newspapers seem to be pretty well at sea as to whether the lottery is or is not a swindle, with odds in favor of tho latter ooDcIubion. Next Tuesday may settle this point if no further adjournment takes place.
