A large shareholder has addressed a circular to his fellow proprietors, in-Ibruiirjp in-Ibruiirjp them that ho had used the most etiiuient mvuna to ascertain the real state of this mine, and has not received re-ceived a sialic drawback on the assertion asser-tion that it has never been in a better condition thao at the present time. He has been assured at the office of the company that there has not been nor is there at tho pieient time any reason for the reports so i'roely circulated, circu-lated, also that tho monthly dividend will bo regularly paid; but, should shareholders prefer a oeriaiuty, he is willioR to buy the dividend at 4i. per share per month for any reasonable number of months. He has been endeavoring en-deavoring to induce the directors to communicate to the shareholders the present position and future prospects of tho mine, but has not succeeded, as they are fearful that they may be accused ac-cused of trying to intluecoo tho Stock Kxuhan'O transactions. He cannot aroe with them on this point, maintaining main-taining that it is their duty to keep the shareholders well informed on all matters concerning their property, and this would be a protection against those letter-writers who have their own interest in-terest to promote at tho expense of tinid or uninformed shareholders. He adds that he has never sold a share, but has a large interest in tho mine, aud his only object in thus addressing hia oo shareholders is that thoir prop eriy may bo better proteoted.
