Show Ooden Items. We tako the following fol-lowing from the Junotion of yesterday evening: General Canby's remains will arrive hero Saturday morning, accompanied by a military escort. A committee of citizens from Portland and San Fran-cisoo Fran-cisoo aro among the party. We regret to hear, as we go to press, that tho wife of Mr. Thos. Doxey, watermastor of this city, has breathed her last. Mr. Doxey has the' sympathy sym-pathy and condolocoe of his numerous friends in this city. Several comptnies, nam boring five hundred moo, will arrive this evening on their way to the west. They are trom Jetterson parracts, mo., anu it is supposed tbey are on their way to relieve the troops now stationed at the Lava Beds. To-morrow morning at 7 o'clock, Mr. F. A. Hammond, of Ogdcn Valley, will start from the tithing yard, in this city, with ihrco hundred head more stock for bis herd ground. Those who want to send animals to this herd had better bo up bright and early and fetch 'em along. Ho will drive again on tho first Saturday in June. |
