Show The Storm YcNtcrdny. Seemingly the stormy weather of the past few days culmm.ttal yesterday yester-day afternoon, with one of the nut terrific thunder, rain and hail shower.-! that has visital this vail y for yeans. The rain poured down in torrent--; hail fell in the cily of very large size, immltersof the hailstones measuring alKtut three inches and n quarter in circumference ; while in Bingham Canon it fell of the enormous size of five to six inches in circumference, being in reality rounded "chunks" of ice. The thunder pealed and lightnings glared, searing the timid and sLvrtling people generally. The only injury received, so far as we learned up to late at night, occurred within a block of the railroad depot Soulh Temple street. There the lightning struck the street railroad track, n hack team, driven by Mr. S. F. Kimball, crwing it at the time. The team was severely shockal, the hind parts or Itoth animals being affected; af-fected; and Mr. Kimball was also stunned for a few seconds, but recov-ing recov-ing himself, by considerable exertfcn he got the team to the stable, where Mr. Tom. Showell proceeded to treat them, blcaling them in the hoofs and applying other means to restore them. When last hoard from they were in a fair way for recovery. The fury of the storm speedily exhausted ex-hausted itself, and in a few hours the clouds had cleared away and the moon shone ns calm and m brilliantly as if no elemental war had raged such a short time previously. |
