Show Funerals. The remains of the late Wm. H. Tail, M. D., were followed to the I cemetery, yesterday, by a very large i number of friends, the Masonic broth- erhood, of which deceased was a : member, making up a goodly part of ' the'1 procession. The ceremonies at his late residence and nt the grivo : were conducted by the same body in ' an impressive manner. The remains of John W. Clark, a member of Washakie Tribe, No. 1, of the Improved Older of lied Men, were 1-ornc to the grave by an escort of that order wearing the mourning badge, a strip of black crape tied with a narrow nar-row ribbon of tho color indicating the deceased member's rank, with a spray of evergreen abovo it; the latter, lat-ter, an emblem of the immortality of ' the soul, to be dropped in the grave ' of the dead brother. The words fol-, fol-, lowing the ceremony were peculiarly touching, closing with: "And as the ivy clings to the sturdy oak, so do we, by tins emblem, cherish thy memory! We shall surely see thee again ! Fm-fwH '. until the Great Spirit, Our Father, shall summon us 1 all to meet in that place which he ; shall prepare for all the faithful ! " |
