Show Resisting an OFFiCER.-On Mon. day night Phil Kohlbcycr, a butoher, insulted and slapped tho faoe of a person per-son at his stand, and when officer Philips went to arrest him Bworc he would not bo taken and resisted the officer; believing, wo presume, wnai some fool had said, that wo could not bo arrested for any offence unless upon a warrant. Finally he went with tho officer, but ufed abusive, vulgar, and blasrlicmous language, and continued to resist him. On their way up street he proposed going into a store, and at length struck the officer, who returned . tho blow, it is alleged with brass knueklcs, inflicting wod in thc lower part of the forehead, yesterday yester-day the case came before judge Clinton, who tined Kohlheycr I0; and tho latter by his attorney preferred a charge against Philips of attempt to do bod!ly injury in striking Kohlheycr with brass knuckles. Security to the amount of $100 was demanded and furnished, fur-nished, the hearing of the case tocomo otf on Friday, |
