The committee com-mittee of the whole on the deficiency appropriations, which were reported to the House with amendment by Holmau of Indiana, forbidding the board of public works incurring further liability of the United dtates, for improvement of the streets, avenues, etc , beyond the appropriations previously made by congress, con-gress, or from entering into any 6ucn contract touching such improvements on tbe p&rtoftne United States, except in pursuance of the appropriations made by congress. The amendment was adopted, and tho bill passed, yeas 109, nays 41. Tho House then took up tbe bill reported laH Tuesday by .Banks, from the commmittee on foreign aifairs, in regard to the national exposition at Vienna. Tho bill appropriates a hundred hun-dred thousand dollars, and requests the governors of the various states to invite their people to assist ill prooer representation represen-tation of American industry. An amendment was offered by Hoar, of a commission of not more than twelve skilled citizens Lo attend tbe exposition and report iheir observations to the president, and was agreed to. The bill then passed. The ben ate bill extending ex-tending the time to present models for the Farragut statue was passed. Tho speaker appointed a select committee on tbe loss of revenue stamps in the assistant assist-ant treasures office at New York, Mor-riam, Mor-riam, Cotton, and Uox.
