Show QO TO UTAH. It seems to us that our eastern friends are all at onoe getting extremely solicitous about the spiritual welfare of the Territories. lo the U. S. Senate on January 20th no less than four pt-titioos pt-titioos were presented asking the total prohibition of themanofactureand sale of all intoxicating beverages in the Territories of the United States. These petitions came respectively from Connecticut, Wisconsin, Oregon and Maryland, emanating, of course, from I be various temperance societies ol those States. We would respectfully suggest that "charity begins at home," and that until these over abstemious individuals effect a reform io their own States they had better not seek to lug their good intentions into the unprotected unpro-tected Territories. These damp attacks , on our self-government are being cai-ried cai-ried a little too far, and we submit to our delegate (hat, as he is bound to prevent us from obtaining railroad communication, it would be no more than lair in him to oppose. these spiritual spirit-ual measures. If we can't have a narrow nar-row gauge, don't deprive us of drowning drown-ing our grief over ihe disappointment. However, Mr. CUggett can do as he pleases, and go to Utah for all we care.
