The attorney general has written to Oakes Ames for the bosks of the credit raobilier company, for the use of the government in the prosecution of the tuit against that corporation, i. Medical inspector Londsdale, of the naval academy, reports that the cadets werawell provided for in every respect on the occasion of their visit to Washington Wash-ington to take part in the inauguration ceremonies. The President has decided to commute com-mute the sentence of 0' linen, convicted of the murder of Cunningham in August last, to imprisonment for life. Ei-senator Corbett has directed: $130, due aim as extra compensation, as a member of the forty-second congress, to be turned over to the Washington monument association.
