Mr. Hopper is the President of tho Singer sowiug umuhiuo couipauy, which is the largest manufacturer ol'sewiug machines in tbi3 world. This company has done a very largo aud satisfactory business in Uiah through tho medium of Ziou's Co-operative Merchant ilo Institution. Mr. Hopper and his friends are just returning home. .Messrs. W. II. Kuauss, of Newark, New-ark, aud 1). W. Hcndrickson, of lt.d Bank, New Jersey, returned las: evening to this city from Ophir, where they havo been spending a week, investigating the prospects of the milieu, with the view of erecting works for the reduction of ores. After a thorough examination of the country and tome of tho mines, tho ore of which they have had tested under their own inspection, they havo tome to the osnclusion that Ophir is a mngnilLccnt mining district.
