Show (By Telcgrai.h.J THE CINCINNATI CONVENTIONS, Cincinnati, May 1. The Keunion Reform convention was called to order at eleven a.m., about four or live hundred hun-dred delegates being present. Judge Caldwell, president of the Cincinnati Reunion Reform association, called the convention to order and nominated judge J. B. Stallo temporary president, o-Iin in ! cnrflh nf'pftncifWnLU Innrrll, proceeded to state the objects and aims of the convention, declaring that they did not meet as Republicans or Democrats, Demo-crats, representing different sections and conflicting interests, but as members mem-bers of the great party of union relbrm and progress, citiaens of various parts of the common country, with mutual interests, having in common patriotic hopes and aims. Referring to the liberal lib-eral Republican convention about to assemble, he sard its purpose was substantially sub-stantially the same as that of the Reunion Re-union Reform convention, and expressed expres-sed the hope that belore the conventions conven-tions adjourned they would meet on a common platform and unite in their efforts ef-forts (o secure the real objects each have in view. On the conclusion ol Stallo's remarks, a committee on permanent per-manent organization, who were also in-strcutcd in-strcutcd to reportthc order of business, were appointed, and pending the call of States, recess was taken till 3 p.m. Cincinnati, 1. At 12 noon the Liberal Lib-eral Republican convention was called to order by colonel Grosvenor, of St. Louis, who nominated judge Stanly Matthews, of Cincinnati, for temporary chairman. Matthews, on taking the chair, thanked the convention for the unexpected honor, and briefly addressed addres-sed the cooveution upon the causes which had necessitated its xscmbling, and upon the work before it.
