Show A.VOTHEH Outrage. Yesterday afternoon, when the examination of KiUingly mentioned elsewhere had closed for the day, Archie Liv-. Liv-. ingston entered into an altercation i with Chief-cf-Poiice Burt, concerning the arrest of his brother, aDd used ; threatening language towards him. He was taken out of the court room into the hail, when he suddenly made an attack on the Chief of Police, Sandie Watson assisting him by holding Captain Cap-tain Burt's head. So rapid and fierce was the assault that the Chief was badly injured en the head before Livingston was 'overpowered. He and Watson are now locked up in prison. Such savage assaults as this one and that of Killingly's should receive re-ceive the extreme penalty of the law. a3 an intimation that neither private citizens nor officers may be attacked and their lives imperilled by bruta! men, without due punishment being awarded. |
