Show A Brutal Outrage. On Saturday night late a nan named Wm. Killing-ly, Killing-ly, recently from Pioche, went into Mr. Joe Simmons' saloon, displayed a pistol, pis-tol, three fifty-cent stamps, and called for liquor. When informed there wa; no liquor kept there, only beer, a'.e and porter, his manner became threatening to the bar-keeper. Peter McKinuon, who was in the saloon at the time, went up and tried to pacify him, when he received a blow from the pistol, followed by others. which srretched him on the floor badly wounded. Augustus Johnson next tried to quiet Kiliingly, and was also several times struck with the pistol, his head being be-ing severely cut in four places. KuUingly then went to McKinnon and ordered him to rise and take a drink, when McKinnon said he was eoin? to die. Killingly ordered him to die, and struck him heavily again. Subsequently KJlingly was arrested by the police and locked up in prison, yesterday he was brought before Alderman Al-derman Clinton, with four charjes preferred against him, two being for assault with intent to kill; Judge Snow for the prosecution, Mr. Iiobortson for the defense. The case is continued until to-day at noon. It ic said Mc Kinnon lies in a critical condition from the wounds he received. |
