Show Obsequies. Tho funeral of Mrs. William Jennings took place from the residence of the family yesterday afternoon, after-noon, aud was very largely attended by relatives, friends, acquaintances aud many of our leading citizens and their families. The religious exercises consisted con-sisted of singing by a portion of the Tabernacle Choir, prayer by Elder John Taylor, and addresses of a sympathetic sym-pathetic and consoling character by President Brigham Young and Elder George Q. Cannon; President D. II. Wells pronouncing the benediction. The remains of the deceased, encased in a handsome metallic coffin, with eat inscription plate, were placed iD the hall, where the friends passed by and took a last look at her whom they had esteemed in life. The procession to the cemetery consisted of about fifty carriages filled with sympathizing friends, who thus showed their respect for the lady and the mourning family. At the grave tho closing benediction was given by Bishop John Sharp. |
