HTDIGNA1TT MINISTER Some Filthy Individual Expectorated On His Little Girl Ephraim June 28Quite a sensation was caused here a few nights ago by the announcement of Rev Hanson the I Methodist pastor that some miscreant I had picked his little 6yearold daughter daugh-ter up and spit tobacco juice in her face Mr Hanson spoke very strongly on the matter and rather intimated that the whole community was responsible respon-sible for the outrage Marshal Beal with his customary zeal started in to find the offender but his investigation developed the fact that there were very slender grounds for the charge Instead of being as stated the child when questioned said she was standing I inside their picket fence in the evening I when some man passing by spit upon I her As the fence is considerably taller I tall-er than the child and the purported i j offense was committed after dark it is very probable the man did not see I I her at all The pastor promised to I publicly modify his statement but has not done so yet No doubt he will do I so before the meetings close
