Show MRS HfNROTIN CMIG Ht I WILL VISIT SALT TATTR CITY ANDMERCUR Federation Council Holds a Session at Federaton Cuci Dsnvcr Objections t the New I Tax Are Discussed I Denver June 2SThe new council of the General Federation of Womens clubs met toda at the Brown Palace I hotel under the direction of the president presi-dent 1m William Lowe of Georgia The most important matter under ani irttcd discussion was the consideration of taxation of affiliated clubs of which there are two the National Household I Kcfconomic association and thi Na ional Society of New England women these qigamzations strenuously object to the general 10 cents per capita tax passed I uy the lederation and hint at WihI diawal To avert a rupture Mrs Slade of New York a representative of the Society of New England Women offered of-fered resolutions which are intended to bridge the difficulty until the next biennial Ihese resolutions provide that these alhiiated national societies shall be responsible to the secretary of the general federation rather than to the secretary of the state federation that they shall have representatives on the nominating committee of the federation that they shall have the same representation at state federations federa-tions and that they shall pay the general gen-eral federation 10 annual aues and the state federation at the rate of 25 cents nor caua The council also decided to further wcrk along library lines and to this end the president appointed as a committee com-mittee Mrs Eugene Hard of Georgia chairman Mrs C S Kinney of Utah and Mrs C H Buckwalter of Ohio Mrs Henrotin will leave Denver on Wednesday morning for Salt Lake City where she speaks before the Utah Womans congress which opens a three days session Thursday morning After this meeting she will spend ten days accompanied by her husband In the mining camp of their eldest son at Mercur Utah Mrs Henrotin has not definitely outlined her future work but after a summers rest will devote hErself to the industrial problem as it clrpn relates particularly to women and chil EXCURSION TO SALT LAKE Tonight this city Is deserted of its 2000 club women visitors and their blue badges They have not left the state however but have simply gone I lout to explore the mountains This evening one of the largest excursions I managed by Mrs Mora Gridley ot Chicago Chi-cago left on the Rio Grande for Salt Hake City here were 150 women in I I fl I the party including some of the prom j meat speakers of the convention who I will also participate in the Utah Wo i mans congress in Salt Lake City This I party will stop at Marshall pass and i Gunnison I |
