Show DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS Emma Johnson Tells 8 Harrowing Tale of Woe A suit in divorce was yesterday filed by Emma Johnson against Joseph Johnson In which the ulalntiff prays for relief on the grounds of her hus bands cruelty and drunkenness In the > complaint i is j alleged that the marriage mar-riage took place on May 10 18S7 at Butte Mon and that shortly afterwards after-wards the wars defendant became addicted to the excessive use of intoxicallmr lqucr and now Is an habitual drunkard drunk-ard and has failed and refused to support sup-port his wife It is also alleged that the defendant while under the influence influ-ence of liquor was mean and vicious and called his wife vie names shook her violently and spat in her food On Sept 15 1S94 Mrs Johnson says he procured a sharp knife and hqld I over her heart and said he had a good mind < 4 to kill her and on Sept 17 1894 whilft the parties were residing at Metervllle Mon defendant came home in the evening In an intoxicated condition and tcre up all her clothes of every kind and broke up all the furniture In the house shock his wife violently and choked her until she became unconscious uncon-scious and left her in that condition and plaintiff fearing lest he would kill her had to leave him She says she is 26 years of age and the defendant is 30 and the latter earns 1S a week as a teamster Plaintiff prays for a decree of divorce and such other relief as eduity and good conscience may suggest |
