Show A BAD ACCIDENT NEW YORK Jan 17A light engine I en-gine ran into a crowd of car cleaners walking on the New York New I Haven Hartford railroad at One Hundred and Fortysecond street today to-day killing two women injuring two other women and men so bad that they probably will die At the point where the accident occurred the road runs through a cut on the west side of which there is a high embankment and on the east side a high stone wall on top of which there is an iron railing rail-ing The car cleaners were on their way to the yards When the Chatham express came along they stepped aside to let it pass The light engine coming up on the northbound track was unobserved un-observed The Becker and Mahon women wo-men were ground under the wheels the others were thrown against the stone wall V p |
