Show DEATH FROM APOPLEXY JAJIES FBRRAIIi FOUND COLD AND STIFF YESTERDAY AFTERNOON A IJoy Companion Who Called Discovered Dis-covered the IIoily Had Been Dead at Least ThirtySix Hours Was a Mim of Frugal Habits and Presumed Pre-sumed to Be Lnmarried Had Money In Bank to the Extent of I Several Hundred Dollars An Inquest In-quest Will Be Held Today I I James Ferrall a bricklayer between the ages of 5 and G who lived by himself j him-self i in a small house at the corner of Ninth West and Third South is lying at the morgue where an inquest will beheld be-held today to determine the cause of his demise Ferrall was a sort of recluse In his way and is presumed to be a single man no one in the city having heard him mention a wife tie was by no means of the character generally developed de-veloped by men who choose to live alone on the contrary was very fond of children and scarcely a Sunday passed that he did not have a crowd of boys at his house where he entertained the little lit-tle fellows telling stories and playing the harmonica for them Yesterday one of the little chaps left home to visit his friend as usual but when he arrived at the house his knock on the door failed to elicit the response it usually did The boy repeated the j t summons for admission several times I and finally got on the sill and looked j i through the window On the bed was the partially dressed body of his old j I friend The lad scampered to Fishers i brewery from whence a message was i sent to Dr McCoy When he arrived the door was broken in Ferrall had 1 been dead at least thirtysix hours as his body was partially frozen He had evidently died from the effects of a j stroke of apoplexy while in the act of attiring himself in his underclothes I The coroner was notified and removed the body and personal effects to the morgue i An examination of the latter developed il develop-ed the fact that Ferrall was a frugal l man and quite welltodo Among his i nronertv was a deed to the house where he lived the same having been purchased pur-chased of Kelsey Gillespie some four years ago There was a certificate of deposit for the sum of 51500 on the Bank of Salt Lake and a bank book showing a balance at the Utah Title Trust and Insurance In-surance companys for 5120 i Other papers showed that at one time I he hart an account at the Emigrant Say lags bank of New York a letter which had enclosed a check from the cashier for 500 being among other papers Per rail was naturalized in the city of Chi cago in 1881 the papers being among the rest Receipts for money paid Bothwell McConaughy for lumber for the house > demonstrate that he was a man who naid his bills He at one time lived at the Central hotel in Omaha and among his papers was the address of EJIcn Hart who lives at 1103 South Eleventh street in that city From indications he had lived there for some years The dead man was quite well known about town as a person frugal in habits and industrious An inquest will bo held today and an effort made to communicate with his relatives if he has any |
