Show EXGMSHS PUNERAL INDIANAPOLIS Ind Feb 9The funeral of William H English occurred oc-curred from the English hotel the late t residence of the deceased at 2 oclock Jan J-an was one of the largest ever held i I in this city Mr English was the wealthiest man in the city his property proper-ty being estimated at from 5000000 to 57000000 and has taken a prominent part in the affairs of Indiana for half a fentury The body lay in the state caoitol from 9 oclock this morning until 1 oclock this afternoon under guard of Masons of which order Mr English was a member and was viewed by tens of thousands of people At 2 oclock this afternoon the funeral exercises ex-ercises were held at the hotel by theRe I the-Re John B English of New York a cousin of the deceased The exercises were simple and brief Outside of the hotel 5000 persons were gathered the interior being crowded to its utmost capacity The funeral procession was nearly a mine in Itrgth being headed by the Masons who also conducted the services nit the grave His will was written by Mr English himself a few years ago and now rests in the vault of the Fletchers bank I will be probated tomorrow |
