Show I SAVED BY ELECTRICITY Tatros Process Proved a Success I With Base Sulphide Ore Seattle PostIntelligencer The electric elec-tric process for the reduction of ore r which has been in vented T > y C P Tatro of this city and is owned by the Electric I Elec-tric Reduction company has been successfully I I cessfully tested on a sample of base ore The test was made in the small sampling plant in the basement of the Northwest Fixture companys store on First avenue but its result has encouraged en-couraged the company to decide on the erection of a larger lant in this city with a capacity of treating several tons of samples in a day Correspondence has been already opened for the purchase pur-chase Of the electric nnH nthor nr > r > li n n ances The test was made on a sample oft of-t ore assaying 1440 gold SI cents in silver 135 per cent copper per ton The j ore carried Iron and copper sulphurets I and some bornite intermixed with zinc blende lime and quartz Carrying I about 4 per cent sulphur it was very refractory and is Mflicult and correspondingly corre-spondingly expensive to treat by the regular smelting process Of the value named the nlant saved on the conner I plates 1 gold 7 cents silver and 3037 per cent of the copier contents while I there was left In solution and therefore extracted 1 cents in silver and S cents in gold The tailings contained 94 percent per-cent in copper per ton The total extraction ex-traction was 8 per cent of the gold and C2i per cent of the silver con I reined The saving of any part of the silver I and copper value which is so small smal that smelters would have made no al I I lowance for i is remarkable and i demonstrates that the process will save j within 2 per cent of the silver and copper I cop-per values |
