Show COMMENTS AT B IGHAM I Some Democrats Think They Can See Through a Millstone Brigham Sept 22 Politics is in the air and comments for and against the I nonpartisan movement are heard upon the streets Some of the good brethren I and staunch Democrats do not seem to be satisfied nor In sympathy with the I movement They say it Is not the outcome out-come of a general demand from the people but Is from a certain priesthood meeting held not long ago and that it originated from the same source as have similar movements which have I sprung up simultaneously over the state if in re from Logan to St George as I Eponse to an electric current in which j the central button is located so to speak somewhere near the headquarters I headquar-ters of the Pioneer power dam Fur there it is asserted that the ticket which will be placed in nomination has been slated for some time past and so it will not take lone for the convention con-vention to name it They will simply read the slate i These statements are made we say I by some of the staunch Democrats and good brethren in this city They will no doubt be denied as they have been j I i denied in Ogden and other cities in the i state but those who have heard the I speeches made from the pulpit lately 1 read the publications in the church organ and saw the people gather I l i about the bishops of the different wards i l during the intermission in the meeting Monday night will form their own conclusions con-clusions regardless of denials They j < I can read see and hear But the nonpartisan = I I non-partisan movement will no doubt receive re-ceive a strong support and will give I the Republican ticket a close race if I not a death blow I |
