Show I LION HILL BONANZAS The northern Light Making Shipments Ship-ments of Lead Ore Mcrcur Sept 22R 4M Jones the noted Salt Lahe electrician was in town the first of the week accompanied by Arch Milner their business being to make estimates and perfect plans for the electric light system from the Jordan narrows The company will commence stringing poles at once and will be on the ground ready to fulfill its contract on time The line TV ill be IS miles long and will come through by Manning I I At the Hercules the tunnel has reached a distance of 357 feet and rich I stringers of ore can be found along the course of the workings which are apparently ap-parently growing larger as depth is reached The ore seems to be richer in gold than the others found on Lion hill Should the theor of the owners be correct and a lanre body of ore is encountered en-countered It will mean much for Lion hill as the tunnel will tap the vein TOO feet below thC lowest workings in the Northern Light and there will be good reasons to believe that the same vein will be found In the Chloride Point and Northern Light by sinking to the same level and suggests the pcreibil ity of rich veins being in existence which were heretofore unsuspected The Northern LIht is one of the mines that rises above the efforts of I law makers or falling markets to injure I in-jure For years it supplied the market with rich sijver ores when silver was high but when silver dropped enough I gold ore could be found to warrant the erection of a lanre mill Lead rises and 10 the company goes into the Tel I man tunnel and begins to sack up lead ores for shipment II A large shipment of lead ore is now being taken out and will soon be placed on the market The new tanks are being filled as fast I as the false 1ottoms are being corn pleted while the Woodruff tunnel is being crowded along to tap the mine at the lowest point whcre the gold predominates pre-dominates Ore for the tanks is being taken frcm the mine and the old dumps left by former operators Sid Frailcy is at work on the Rosa a small fraction lying between the Northern North-ern Light and the C L C and joining the Columbia purchased by J D Hal fer a few days age Frailcy Parks and Lambert have taken a contract to drive a tunnel 100 feet oa tine C L C and work will be commenced In a few days The work will be done in the tunnel where Jerry Ansen made a rich strike last year The vein in this tunnel tun-nel was 18 inches wide and ran SS ounces silver to the ton I It is reported that the Chloride Point although owning one of the largest and best properties In this section of the k ii M country is not yet satisfied but is still reacihing out for more and your correspondent cor-respondent is reliably informed that the company Will soon absorb the Wachu sette C L C Rosa and Columbia and will join the Northern Light all along the line Should this be done then indeed In-deed will the Chloride Point be one of I the richest properties In Utah Five carloads of ore will be shinned this month and it is probable that the shipments ship-ments next month will be at least twice I as large j The reported strike at the Independence I Independ-ence mine owned by J H Conrad caused quite a ripple of excitement here although Mr McIntyre manager for J H Conrad denied the report The boys here were too well acquainted with the ores however to be fooled in the matter and as horn silver as well as bromides and chlorides could be seen in the material being brought to the surface denials didnt count The prop ° rty joints the Old Baltic from which very rich ore in large quantities was taken in early days and there is little doubt but that the Independence shaft has tapped the same vein |
