Show HOIST FOB THE ANTELOPE I Extensive Developments Planned For This Bingham Mine Tis Mne The Bineham Bulletin in its weekly I mining review says New hoisting machinery was unloaded unload-ed at the Antelope mine lat Friday II and Saturday was being put in place McDonald Harrington McNally have mapped out considerable development work for this winter and prospects are bright that the Antelope will loom up next spring as a profitable shipper Work now beginning includes the extension f ex-tension of a crosscut run westerly from i the main incline to tap the famous Richmond n from which the Dalton Lark company took many tons of good ore last winter The crosscut is at the 600 level It was begun last winter win-ter and run to the Richmond footwall reaching i nearly 40 feet below the workings in the Dalton Lark group where the pay was at the hanging wall As the vein is nearly 100 feet wide I probably the crosscut will have to be extended nearly that distance before encountering good mineral Besides I the Richmond the Lark and Wasatch veins intersect the Antelope group and the owners will be in hard luck if they dont find a good thing in one of them The incline is in excellent carbonate ore on the Lark vein but farther sinking sink-ing will necessitate a pumping outfit which ent will not be put in for the ores DIPS AND SPURS Immediate operations under Manager Thomas at the Niagara companys mines will Include sinking the shaft of the 89 to connect with the Niagara tunnel The distance to sink is 352 feet vertical depth I will prove one of the most important improvements ever undertaken on the celebrated old property and beyond doubt open a large area of valuable new ground be sides ultimately giving drainage and a superior outlet to the whole group Bingham miners who are talking of giving the Beam reduction process a trial should inform themselves as to its merits before taking steps which they may have cause to regret The Engineering Engi-neering and Mining Journal expresses the opinion that the Beam method is impracticable the impression given being be-ing that it will in due time take its place in the boneyard to which hundreds dreds of other marvelous processes have been consigned The situation at the new Last Chance mill favors its speedy completion comple-tion as the floors of the building are all enclosed and work can progress without interruption Some of the machinery ma-chinery is en route and the balance being turned out as rapidly as possible Roads permitting it will be hauled to the site immediately on arrival ands and-s ould be running before the close of the year Work at the Winnamuck was partially tially suspended yesterday and the pumps of the lower level drawn Rumor I assigns the cause to be the failure of I A H Borman and associates to secure Ian I-an extension of their bond which ex pires in February They demanded it as a large outlay for machinery is necessary nec-essary at this time The east drift oft of-t essar e 400 last week went into a fine showing show-ing of ore and the mine is said to be looking better than it has at any previous pre-vious time The Highland Boy has 200 tons of which Stand shipping ore in its bins ish Jimpsons busy teams have ben unable to reach or the output from that property would have reached over 700 tons last month 70 The Giant Chief company has secured the old Markham mill and It is being I overhauled and remodeled under the supervision of George Mallett to treat secondclass ore from the mine In another week the connection between be-tween winze and shaft in the Frisco will be completed opening up 150 feet of stoping ground The mine will then begin regular shipments I I Messrs Crouch and Benedict of the Zelnora are planning opening that property in new ground as the present I tunnel site Is in the track of snow slides The main canyon tram was closed for one day by the heavy storm of Wednesday The cars began running again yesterday morning The storms in the latter part of November No-vember retarded ore movements and materially upset calculations of a number num-ber of shippers Plans are said to be maturing for the beginning of extensive operations on two of the main canyon placer claims The storm of Wednesday leaves a considerable depth of snow on the hills and made hard hauling Manager A Gebhardt came in this morning and is inspecting operations at the Phoenix mine Several transfers of important Bingham I Bing-ham mining property are being consummated con-summated this week I Tom Mayne finished hauling a 25ton lot of finelooking ore from the Zel nora on Wednesday Scott and Jones are reported to be cn I a nice streak of ore in their Tiewaukep lease I |
