Show r PKiACTICIiNG BASE DECEPTION One thing can be depended upon and that is f that the socalled sound money Democrats notwithstanding the fact that they have placed a ticket of their I own in the field will vote for Mr McKinley I Kinley almost to a man The sound money ticket was placed In the field ostensibly for the purpose of affording I the gold element of the party an opportunity oppor-tunity to vote a Democratic ticket but I in reality and primarily for the purpose I pur-pose of enabling gold Democrats to campaign against the regular Democratic Demo-cratic ticket as Democrats The managers man-agers of the sound money party believe be-lieve that they can draw more Democratic I Demo-cratic votes away from Mr Bryan by I appealing as Democrats to Democrats j than they could by laboring outright for McKinley The energy > and efforts of the sound money element will be directed against free sliver and against Mr Bryan It is not the intention of the round money men to do anything that will take one vote away from Mr I McKinley The truth is the sound I money men are wearing the mask of i deceit They will labor secretly for i Mr McKinley and publcly for Mr Palmer Only such voters will be encouraged en-couraged to vote for Mr Palmer as refuse to voce for Mr McKInley The sound money Democrats are therefore there-fore simply aa adaunot to the Republican Repub-lican party They have entered the fight not to elect Mr Palmer but to defeat William J Bryan and free silver sil-ver The scheme is a base conspiracy to thwart the aims of justice and is as dishonorable as it Is bold |
