Show THE YALE STUDENTS The Yale students who broke up the meeting at New Haven which Mr Bryan Bry-an was addressing have brought deep disgrace upon their alma mater Mr Bryan a the presidential candidate of the Democratic party was entitled to respectful treatment no matter how much those who attended the meeting at which he spoke may have dissented from his views T the majority of people the misbehavior misbe-havior and illconditioned action of the Yale students will seem to have more significance than should be given them Any one who has ever seen a crowd of college students on mischief bent shouting shout-ing their idiotic college yell knows just what kind of a crowd it was that interrupted inter-rupted and finally broke up the meeting meet-Ing that Mr Bryan was addressing They are young men hardly beyond the age of adolescence Usually they are I good fellows at heart with a superabundance superabun-dance of big head It w this super c c abundance of big head that led them to make such fools of themselves Their action was but the outward expression of the sentiments of that portion of the country in which they live either permanently per-manently or temporarily Reprehensible Reprehensi-ble as their action was it was not so reprehensible that of the band which came up and added t the din and uproar up-roar No one will believe that the faculty ulty of Yale college would in any way countenance such proceedings We believe that Yale still insists upon compulsory attendance a1 chapel exercises ex-ercises She should also insist upon her students behaving as prayerful little boys are usually made to behave at home |
