Show 1 BRICKS AND BOULDERS They Play a Very Prominent Part inn in-n Political Meetingr and Parade at Orestes Indiana ANDERSON Ind Sept 2A free silver sil-ver meeting at Orestes this afternoon broke suddenly with a riot A parade was one of the features and the line of march lay past the Republican Glass Workers Cub house Fifteen or twenty members were seated on the porch when the parade passed Persons In line made remarks about the F McKinley pictures In the windows This brought on words and a company of mounted men followed by a mob on foot left the ranks and attacked the little party A perfect shower of boulders and bricks fell on the porch hitting the men and crashing through the weather board ins and windows The unmounted men did what the rocks failed to do and when the riot was stopped by cooler heads and the three or four hundred men were dispersed dis-persed It was found that about twenty had been seriously Injured and three John McKinney D K Miller and Carl Light foot were In a most dangerous condition I is feared tonight they will die The club house Is a wreck Among those now at under Summltville arrest is F H Carter postmaster |
