strength of the markets ubroad has not yet been reflected In any appreciable way here Prices though not quotably higher certainly are steadier ann although trade has ruled very quiet manufacturers have found It impossible to obtain concession In value from those current a week ago Wool is low in com parfcon with other staple articles and it is lower than anywhere else Stocks of domestic wool here are not large and vet there appears to be enough to meet the demand which in Itself is not urgent urg-ent The business of the past week has been of a retail character very few good lots having been moved The aggregate aggre-gate of transaction In fact is even less than that or last week Holders of wool are In some quarters quite flrm in their views and a cage is cited where a manufacturer manu-facturer came into the market and made some offers none of which were accepted by the dealers went home without securIng secur-Ing his wool It Is believed even by those who had been looking for a further decline de-cline in values that wool has got to a puint where the bottom can be felt and that any further change In values will be upward rather than in a downward Direction LONDON WOOL SALES London March 20At the wool auction Sales today 12220 bales were offered The general run of prices was 10 pence over the closing rates of the last sales American Amer-ican buyers paying the lower figures The American purchases so far amount to about 5000 bales CHICAGO LIVE STOCK Chicago March 20The cattle market today was hummer With offerings of scarcely 2009 head and all classes of buyers
