i Strongly mentioned for the supreme su-preme bench and everything now points to his nomination for all the members of the bar and party recognize him as a good lawyer and feel that he would make 1 good judge and I is said that he will I accept the position Hon D D Houtz is talked of for the district bench in connection 4 con-nection with other members of the bar but no definite action has been taken A < number of the southern county papers e h have been mentioning Sam KIng for judge t p of tho Fifth district but we are credibly e informed that all of this talk is without 1 his consent and against his wishes In conversation with a friend a few days ago he was head to remark that he had no judicials aspirations and under no circumstances would he stand for a position po-sition of this kind and that his Business associations were pleasant here and he would not return to his old home at Fillmore Fill-more There is very little talk about senators at present but the feeling seems to be growing daily in favor of Judge Header son for the Democrats of this county remember his good work in the past Since The Herald mentioned a few days ago Judge King for representative his cause has been growing daily In fact he iii the only candidate mentioned in this county and Cache and Weber as well asSail as-Sail Lake seem very favorable to him to say nothing about his strength in the outlying counties The Republicans as usual are beginning to claim everything following the Instructions instruc-tions given by Chairman Crane last year They are undoubtedly doing this to divert attention from their continual strifes and bickerings You can see however on their faces a feelinc of sadness and longing long-ing sadness at Judge GoodwinK clean campaign and a longing for Colonel Trumbos barrel that so far has only found an opening into the pockets of one or two heelers who are not dictated by Chairman Graham Mayor Holbrook C 13 Loose and Heed Srnoot are keeping their own counsel but silently watching results as well as George M Cannon Judge J D Jones says by his actions that if the Republicans will let him have V charge of the exchequer of the new state f < ha will be satisfied And so goes the Ntlk |
