I Dont Give a Damn Indianapolis March Lieutenant Governor Nye ruled today that the senate could pot pass any bills as It vas the last day of the session Speal er Adams of the house made an opposite op-posite ruling allowing bills to be passed There was an animated scene in the lieutenantgovernors room at noon after the senate adjourned Mr Ky was signing bills when Governor Matthews Mat-thews came In He was visibly excited ex-cited and said he had three bills before be-fore the senate which ought to be acted upon One was against prize fighting Under your ruling declared Governor i Gov-ernor Matthews these bills cannot I be passed You should not have made I such a ruling My ruling was according to the constitution and the Heutenanlgov ernor reached for a book and read the section I am willing to waive my rIghts under the constitution said Governor Matthews Well I am not What is the constitution con-stitution made for If It is to he dig obeyed Is i made for the whole people peo-ple or just for the governor of Indiana In-diana 7 said Mr Nye You made a wrong ruling two years ago I say I did not and the lieutenant governor brought his fist on the table before him I ruled then that a bill under consideration on Saturday night at adjournment was proper to be brought up Holiday Well If those bills are lost I will hold you responsible for them I dont care a damn for your oills They have been before the senate for Along A-long time Why were they not brought up and passed before this 1 I dont know I dont either I know I did not interfere with them anti I will not change my ruling
